GPS/GIS Curriculum

ESER provides a curriculum and classroom instruction on the Global Position System (GPS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).  In this curriculum the student will :

  • Learn what GPS is and how it works.
  • Receive training and hands-on experiences in using GPS in the field.
  • Receive training and hands-on experience in the display and editing of a map using GIS technology.

The curriculum is focused on Trimble GeoExplorer 3 GPS units.  These units may be available for classroom instruction.

This curriculum provides an excellent resource for training students to compete in the annual GPS competition to be held every year in May.  For more information, contact Alana Jensen.
